Display tests

Check your screen for dead pixels, backlight bleed and ghosting, and measure its refresh rate and resolution. Free, in your browser, nothing to install.

The display tests look for faults and report your settings, so choose by what you see:

  • A dot that stays black, white or colored? The dead pixel test fills the screen with one solid color at a time so faulty pixels stand out.
  • Light leaking at the edges, or cloudy patches on dark scenes? The backlight bleed test shows black and dark gray, where leaks and glow stand out.
  • Trails behind moving objects? The ghosting test moves shapes across black, gray and white so trails show.
  • Is it really running at 144 Hz? The refresh rate test measures how often your browser draws the screen.
  • Which resolution and pixel ratio am I on? The screen resolution tool shows your screen size, viewport and pixel ratio.
